ABOUT

La bateauthèque is a PARTICIPATIVE library dedicated to DECOLONIAL, CRITICAL, ANTI-RACIST, FEMINIST AND ECOLOGICAL thinking and emerges from the specific context of Geneva.
The selection of works is available through the website
or onsite, at its current residence. La bateauthèque is NOMADIC and developed in situ through different INVITATION AND COLLABORATION with the aim of giving facilitated access to decolonial knowledge while providing A FAVOURABLE SPACE FOR REFLECTION AND EXCHANGE.

After discovering the history of an ancestor who armed four slave boats in the 18th century transatlantic slave trade, I embarked for a transformative journey with this poetic goal:

I DESCEND FROM AN OLD BURDENSOME TREE.
I WILL TAKE ITS WOOD AND BUILD A BOAT.
